  • Introduction to Ethics and Professionalism: Ethics, Professional Ethics, Engineering Ethics, Business Ethics; Laws vs. Morals vs. Ethics; Ethics & Professionalism; Scope and importance in engineering; Development and major issues.
  • Moral Reasoning & Ethical Frameworks: Ethical dilemmas, Moral development and autonomy, Ethical theories, Codes of Ethics (local and international), Problem-solving techniques.
  • Professional Conduct & Workplace Ethics: Trust, honesty, integrity, desirable traits, workplace etiquettes, time management, responsibilities, risk and safety, academic and research integrity.
  • Rights, Responsibilities & Ethical Challenges: Engineer’s rights, professional conscience, confidentiality, conflict of interest, whistleblowing, intellectual property rights, questionable practices, micro and macro ethics.
  • Engineers, Society & the Environment: Social and environmental responsibilities, sustainability, role of professional bodies
