COURSE CONTENT
- Fundamentals of Engineering Drawing: Understanding the role of technical drawings; introduction of design process; alphabet of lines; measurement systems; drawing scale; lettering and its standards; drawing instruments and sheets.
- 2-D Drawings: Visualization and sketching; understanding solid objects; sketching techniques; construction of engineering curves, conics, cycloids, involute, spiral; one view drawings.
- Introduction to Projection theory: Multiview, axonometric, oblique, and perspective; construction of Multiview drawing with first and third angle projections; construction of isometric projection / drawing with curves and circles.
- Dimensioning and Tolerancing: Dimensioning techniques; rules for dimension values, size and geometric tolerance and their symbols; standards; types of fits.
- Introduction to fasteners: Permanent / temporary, threaded / non-threaded fasteners; screw thread forms; dimensioning of threaded fasteners.
- Working Drawing: Overview of working drawing with concept of assembly drawings; bill of materials
- Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs): Understanding the schematic of process flow diagram; overview of pipping drawings.
