COURSE CONTENT
- Active and passive building elements, psychrometric processes, properties of moist air, Sol-air temperature window. Building heating and cooling load calculation, thermal storage effect, cooling load temperature difference method for cooling load. Annual building energy consumption, thermal networks, network diagrams and relations. Heat generation and heat transfer equipment, solar heating equipment, natural gas and electric resistance heaters. Heat pump, cogeneration. Cooling equipment, evaporative cooling, vapor compression and vapor absorption cooling systems, desiccant dehumidification and cooling system, air distribution and ventilation systems. Energy efficiency in buildings, performance indices for heating and cooling, design for daylighting.
